FAQ

1. WHAT MATERIALS DOES SLJ USE?

Our jewellery is crafted primarily in 925 sterling silver, with selected designs using silver-plated brass to bring certain design intentions to life. We use high-quality Cubic Zirconia (CZ), Quartz (QTZ), and Topaz (TPZ) as our signature stones.

2. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STERLING SILVER 925 AND SILVER-PLATED BRASS?

Sterling silver is a solid precious metal, known for its longevity and depth. Silver-plated brass offers the same polished look at a lighter weight and price—ideal for more sculptural or seasonal pieces.

3. WILL MY JEWELLERY TARNISH?

All silver—solid or plated—can naturally tarnish over time, especially with exposure to air, moisture, perfumes, and skin contact. Plated pieces are more delicate, as the outer layer may fade with heavy wear. We recommend storing pieces in a dry place and avoiding contact with water or chemicals to preserve their finish.

4. WHAT IS SLJ'S APPROACH TO SUSTAINABILITY?

We design consciously. SLJ uses mostly recycled sterling silver and ethically sourced stones. Our collections are made in small batches to reduce waste, prioritising quality over quantity and supporting artisan craftsmanship every step of the way.

5. HOW IS CRAFTSMANSHIP REFLECTED IN SLJ?

Each design is developed in-house—from concept to final polish. We test every silhouette, finish, and fit to ensure it not only looks refined but also wears beautifully.
